In connection with my birthday trip in Bacolod and San Carlos, I got to see up close the initial preparations for the Pintaflores Festival.
Pintaflores is coined from the words Pintados, the concept behind the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival, and the "flores", the Spanish word for flowers that dominated the theme of the Dances of Flowers. The Pintaflores street dancing and ritual competition highlights the annual Pintaflores festival every November 3-5.
Our group made the most of the short time taking photos with the participants.
We had to leave without waiting for the parade to start due to our scheduled flight back to Manila. Hope I could get another chance to be able to witness the actual celebration.
